My Leadership practice that I tasked myself with centered around time management. How to take on responsibilities and not wait to the last minute to complete an assignment. For me this was difficult, organization is not my strongest suit. However, I am fulfilling my task by making a conscience effort to document everything down on my calendar---appointments, project related phone conversations (who I talked to, subject matter, brief summary of discussion), etc. Most of the time I found that my day was smoother and work was paced out...everything wasn't so urgent.
This is not to say that I didn't stumble from time to time, I did. For example, this assignment feels a bit rushed because I have to travel tomorrow and I still haven't packed. Oh yeah, its almost 6 pm I am still in the office and I have an hour drive home. Yeah, today wasn't a well planned day. Like I said, I am working on it.
I know that I have to be flexible. Being too stringent is stifling to me...so I am working on the balancing part.
