Providing critical feedback in a positive manner can be very difficult. However, it is do-able. I commend you for your commitment to find a way to help others without 'hurting' or 'hindering' their drive to succeed at something.

Providing positive feedback and understanding your team members personalities and stiles will help everybody work better and more efficiently. It also encourages them to be better at their jobs and the effect on moral should be positive. Great practices.
