1. I will be committed to understand other team members' personalities and styles by taking into consideration the DISC assessment. Also I will try to speak up under stressful situations, learn how to disclose myself appropriately and practice some D characteristics.
2. Practice the team performance model with a recently hired employee and other team members.

You're being an overachiever here, Katerina . . . you actually have three behaviors listed . . . apply DISC with others, speak up more (raise your D) and use the Team Performance model. Let me encourage you to choose just two of these and get a bit more specific with them. For example, in what specific circumstances might you seek to raise your D? And how will you evaluate your success in doing so and the impact of that success? What specifically do you plan to do in practicing the Team Performance model? Any specific stage of that model you will focus on with these team members? Best wishes!

Hi Katerina,
I too find myself needing to raise my D in certain situations so I can certainly relate to your first leadership practice. I hope you are having success practicing the team performance model!

Those are awesome goals! I to use to have trouble speaking up in meetings and the more I made myself speak up the better I got at it. I'm sure you have great ideas that your team could benefit from.

Jeff thanks for the feedback! I agree, I need to be more specific. 1. I always try to accommodate others feelings and thoughts and forget to express my personal opinion. I would like to practice to become a D by speaking up to express my thoughts. For this I already started by adding a quote on my office space to constantly remind myself to speak up: "Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice" -Steve Jobs. I’m also keeping a log of the opportunities I have to speak up and the impact it had. 2. I’m also planning to be more conscious of my peers DISC characteristics and understand and respect the different personalities. For this I took some time to recognize the personalities of the co-workers I interact with the most and see how they would be affected by my personality. I’ve been reading more about the other types, what they like, what makes them loose energy and how to work around them.

Hi Katerina,
Great skills to work on: - Recognizing others' personalities and styles is a key component to successful interaction.
- Regarding speaking up; I struggled with this for many years...but with some effort, it does become easier. As it becomes easier, your confidence strengthens.
- I have found that, over the years, building trust is critical for team success. Once established, trust will allow all energy to be focused on the work at hand.
Good luck as you work on these!
