1. I commit to working on my DISC adapted style to be more effective during interactions with folks in my office as well as our state partners. At the end of each week I will reflect on my interactions, make notes on what went well and what could be improved, and work on improving future interactions.
2. I commit to working on saying no to prevent taking on too much work. In the next two weeks I will work on my time management and delegation skills. At the end of each week I will reflect on how I did and how I can improve.
UPDATE: 1. I have found my interactions have improved by focusing on my adapted DISC style. I still have a ways to go, but feel I have a great start so far. 2. I have found saying no to be a bit difficult, but I'm getting there. My natural style is to always jump in and volunteer. I've been able to turn a few items down, but still have to work at saying no.
I will keep working on the above leadership practices over the next year to help to improve my interactions and better balance my time.

Hi Mary,
Taking on too much is an area that I had to balance out in my life. I always figured if someone asks you for your assistance its your responsibility to take it all on. Well, thankfully, I no longer strive to carry the world on my shoulders and if I can assist you (time permitting) then I will. Its all about what you have going on as well, you can't take on others work and have yours fall behind. No, is a very powerful word. Its hard to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, its smooth sailing.
Good luck! By the Way, Mary can you do all of my AMP work for me?

Thanks for posting these LPs, Mary. Good ones to take on! You could be just a bit more specific on these . . . in what direction(s) do you need to adapt your DISC to be more effective in your interactions? Good luck with your implementation of these behaviors and your reflection, evaluation and revision of them.

Hello Mary. I hope you are progressing with your LP's. I know it can be challenging to tell others no or delegate responsibility. Being actively engaged in the LP you created are a great step to improvement. Good luck on achieving your leadership goals.
